Happy Halloween!

  • Remember when you were a kid and you were so excited about picking out your costume? Did you like being a superhero? Or, did you want to be someone scary, funny or silly? Or were you one of those highly extraordinary kids who always won the ‘best costume’ prize?
  • So often during coaching sessions, clients talk about what they were like when they were children. It is so telling when they share when they used to play ‘Grown Up’ because unbelievably, who they always wanted to ‘play’ is what they really want to do now! Can you believe it?
  • Please bear with these ideas… This is meant to be a fun yet thought-provoking assignment. They’re meant to spark a deeper thought process that you may not have revealed before. It’s meant to help you find your passion. Once you find it, then you can create a goal driven path to blaze and finally reach a more fulfilling, passionate life!
  • Do you remember what you played when you were young? Who did you pretend you were? So, what are you thinking now?
    • “Yeah, when I was 8 I wanted to be a doctor, but there’s no way now”
    • Well, would you still  like  to be a doctor?
    • If so, what prompts that response, ‘no way now’?
    • What are those limiting beliefs?
    • Or, if you knew then what you know now, what would you want to play (at age 8)?
  • “Well, I wanted to be a professional baseball player, but that’s not possible”!
    • What was it about being a pro ball player that intrigued you?
    • Can you explore other ways to ‘play’ instead of work?
    • Of course, you can!
  • “It’s not realistic to think that when I was 10, translates to what I can contribute today”.Are you sure about that? You’d be surprised how close very successful people are doing exact or similar things to what they wanted to do as a kid.
  • Reason being, when you’re a kid, you like doing what you’re good at AND there’s no risk – doesn’t it make sense to make a living doing what you’re naturally good at?
  • It feels better and makes you much happier! Yes, there may be a risk, but can you weigh it against fear and excitement?
  • When was the last time you thought about changing your life in a big way? Was it when you lost your job or a loved one? Was it when you got married or moved to a new home? When people experience a life-changing event such as these examples, it’s common to want to consider, contemplate or reassess other areas of your life.

Of course, you don’t have to have it all figured out now, you just need to be certain that you’d like to explore different choices.
