The resume is the first impression to an introduction to the potential next employer, it has to be perfect for that job. You can have your dad, or your friend or a teacher give you pointers, but if you’ve applied to jobs and haven’t gotten a response, you need a professional review, revision, and/or version.
In today’s hiring practices, recruiters and hiring managers use software to ‘read’ the plethora of resumes they receive. RMS or Resume Management Systems and ATS or Applicant Tracking Systems work by highlighting key words that match your resume to the job description. However, if there are too many matching words and/or not enough supporting evidence to show experience with those key words, it will work against you.
